WordPress 3.0 released What’s new

WordPress- the most popular blogging platform has officially released the new version WordPress 3.0 on 17 Jun 2010. This is a giant leap from the previous version with around 1217 bug fixes and feature enhancements.  Result of the combined effort of 218 coders and developers across the globe. WordPress 3.0 can be downloaded from WordPress site or can be upgraded within the dashboard of WordPress installation.

An important uplift is the inclusion of brand new default theme named Twenty Ten. Twenty Ten is a community-developed beautiful theme with fantastic typography and flexible features. The features of Twenty  ten includes- Custom menu, Custom backgrounds, Custom headers etc.

Colour scheme of dashboard has been changed to a lighter one and help feature is available on every screen.

The bulk upgrade feature facilitates single click upgrade of themes and plugins from the admin back end. A maximum of 15 plugins can be upgrades at once with a single click.

Built in URL shortening feature helps to shorten your long URLs without using any additional plugin.
