What’s new in Opera mini 5.1

July 11, 2010 | by techlineinfo.com

Opera mini, the world’s most popular mobile browser has released its new update to the existing version of Opera mini 5.  What is new in this update?

  • The update is mainly targeted for Symbian 40 mobile handsets like Nokia 5130 XpressMusic, Nokia 6300 and Nokia 2700 etc. This will also benefit phones with a small screen size, such as the Sony Ericsson K550i and Sony Ericsson W810i etc.
  • With this upgrade, out of memory issues of low ended handsets will be reduced. You need not to reload the pages while surfing.
  • This update is not critical for Symbian 60 devices and high ended smart phones
  • The update includes a new optimized browser skin allowing for more pages to be open at the same time, more rapid scrolling through pages, and overall improved browsing performance.

Lars Boilesen, CEO, Opera Software says “The goal with Opera Mini is to make the Web available to anyone, anywhere, regardless of where they come from or the handset they have. More than 61 million people on over 3000 devices have chosen to surf the Web with Opera Mini for fast and easy Internet access at a considerably lower cost”

The 90% compression of data before sending to mobile handsets makes fast page loading and speed. This compression is helpful in reducing the browsing cost considerably and is perfect for slow GPRS connections.

To download opera mini 5.1, go to http://m.opera.com from your mobile browser. Opera will automatically detect your handset and give the link for dowload
