Link Building tools-An overview

June 25, 2010 | by techlineinfo.com

In this article we won’t be listing specific link building tools, but we would rather describe the different tools that are available and discuss their advantages and disadvantages.

In the past few years, many new webmasters are far more focused on finding “great tools” that will somehow magically help them drive massive and constant amount of traffic to their websites, and make them rich overnight. And if you are one of those webmasters, then you should realize that all link building and other similar SEO tools are just an instrument that is likely to make your work easier and save you time, but you still need a good long-term strategy in place and still need to work hard in order to succeed.

When it comes to link building, there are a decent number of tools out there that can be broadly divided into a few main categories:

–         Directory submission tools are by far some of the most widely used, but they are only good if you use them properly. Before you decide to spend considerable amount of money on similar tool, make sure that it works properly, has been recently updated, and that you can edit the directories’ database. The latter is crucial since you wouldn’t want to tie down your computer’s resources for hours, submitting your website’s link to thousands of directories that have little or no traffic and only offer NOFOLLOW back links.

–         Competitive analysis tools are another great link building instrument that will give you an idea on how many websites link to your direct competitors and what is it that you need to do in order to gain an advantage. Most of these tools search the top search engines and give you full data on how many back links similar to your own sites have and who is linking to them.

–         Link verifying tools check for broken links, verify existing back links, and redirected links. This will help you easily identify and remove dead links from your website, as well as make sure that reciprocal links are still in place. Some of these link building tools are capable of generating detailed reports that are easy to read and will help you stay on top of your SEO game.

–         Link exchange tools are also still popular, even though many SEO pros think that the link exchange is much less beneficial now than it was even a few years ago. However, if you believe that you can increase your site rankings, then these types of tools will speed up the link exchange process considerably.

The link building process starts and finishes with you and its success is determined by your abilities and the many hours of hard work that you are willing to put in. If you launch and maintain a website that focuses on a particular niche,  if you add good content to your website day in and day out, sooner or later it will have enough visitors and you will be able to monetize the traffic that you get.
