Free Facebook access for Airtel customers

Good news for Airtel customers in India. Now Airtel subscribers can access the world’s most popular social networking service- Facebook, absolutely free of cost. The offer is valid up to August 31. Airtel customers will not be charged the data cost while accessing Facebook via m.facebook.com. Presently Facebook mobile is available in English and Hind, but it will support Punjabi, Bengali, Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam shortly.

For existing mobile internet customers of Airtel, there is no need to do anything – they can immediately start connecting with their friends by visiting the Facebook mobile site. Customers are accessing the mobile internet for the first time need to simply SMS ‘FACEBOOK’ to 54321 to take advantage of this special offer. Free access to Facebook Mobile on Airtel is available for the entire months of July and August, 2010.
