BSNL EVDO
BSNL EVDO hardware BSNL is using EVDO device AC8700 manufactured by ZTE. It is a sleek USB device. BSNL has burnt in the phone number and hence the EVDO comes with a phone number on it. The user id is the phone number prefixed with area code and password is typically the last 4 digits of the phone number.

Please dont go for reliance net connect. Its the worst..
They are cheating people. First few months it will be fine, but later your bill will increase 5 fold. I myself ended up paying 5000 where I was suppose to pay only 1000 as my monthly rental. when you call up and ask to customer care they wil simply send you a sheet which contains data usage. In tht you will see tht you have dowload so much and uploaded so much.. which is totally wrong or fabricated….
so dont take it.. go for some other service provide…

Hi, I am using Reliance netconnect Broadband + device. Most of the times the speed is less, and of course i am in the center of Mumbai city which cannot be considered for poor signal. Even though i am not getting the speed of 3.1 Mbps and the hell reliance some times turns off the broadband + service and i dont get any broadband + signal.
And that tricky guys provided an option of Hybrid connection which switches automatically between Highspeed 1x ( bloody hell the name highspeed, it is only 20 KBps, and is very rare. more than half of the times the speed will be like 3-8 KBps and hell some times it is 0.1 KBps etc…god…..) and Broadband +. So 30% of the times it will be in HighSpeed 1x mode and 50 % on Hybrid mode and remaining 20 % on Broadband + mode. One thing i like in reliance is the signal when i go even to my native place which a small village in between Parvathipuram and Bobbili in Vizianagaram Dist in andhrapradesh. approximately my village will be 175 to Visakhapatnam. Even then also i get Highspeed 1x signal and the browsing speed is ok. 2-9 KBps. So is there any better idea than reliance netconnect for me in datacard internet. ( right now i am paying monthly 975 rs to reliance for Day 1GB and night 10GB package including taxes)? If so can i shift my existing reliance datacard to any other service provider without buying a new datacard?

Guys……Never go for Reliance.I took a connection in march with 4 month Advance rental with 10 GB every month free. for the first 2 weeks it was working fine and thereafter they disconnected it saying that may bill is pending for Rs 700.I called up the sales guy from Reliance Web world Abid Hyderabad he said that the plan has was not been updated he will get it in 2 days.my connection start working again it worked for 3 week or so and i got shock of my life I received a bill of Rs 7800 as per them i have used 25 Gb of data last month when i went thru my bill plan was also not updated and now the sales guy is saying he has already send an mail to technical team for plan updation but nothing has been done.

I called call center, they said to go to service center which is 2 hours from my place and since i am new to this place i have no directions to go. I purchased this 1 week back.

Call the customer care and ask them to disconnect the service citing reason for poor speed,etc. first they will try to convince you that speed will increase. we will send teams etc.,etc…but all rubbish. we all know that.when you will not change your decision then they will play their final card..CUSTOMER RETENTION PLAN. According to which they will propose to reduce your bill.Then accept it. And there is no problem.I have done it and at least it is satisfying and a sort of compensation for low speeds. It works on AIRTEL postpaid also.

Hi, can anybody please tell me, when TATA photon+ is going to to become 3G in ‘Rest of Maharashtra’ ?
the reliance netconnect is the piece of hell..is jst give max speed of 16 to 18 kbps…..wat abt the speed of 144 kbps…for they r advertizing….cheaters….nd the lowest speed or avrge is 3 to 6 kbps….i think need to file a leagal siut in consumer court…rply..or sugestions…
The practical way of calculating sppeds is:
CDMA 1X
144/8 KBPS or 144 kbps
CDMA2000 EVDO
3.1/8 MBPS or 3.1 mbps
There is a difference between ‘KBPS’ and ‘kbps’ i.e. former one is ‘Kilo Bytes Per Second’ and the later one is ‘kilo bits per second’.

I have just moved to raigarh, chhattisgarh due to my work reasons. I was using Micromax 7.2 mbps modem with BSNL 2G sim(Rs. 98/- for 3G.B per mnth) before at kolkata. I was pretty satisfied with its speed then. But all of a sudden it isn’t working nymore. After reading this forum I’m sure as hell NOT going to go for RELIANCE netconnect. But in here i am not getting photon plus…they r givin whizz…what should i do? Plz reply

Use Tata Photon+…believe me man..it gives awesome service and customer care. Also, now tata photon works in most regions of India. The tariff plans are also satisfactory !

what is good for ahmedabad? i wish to buy plug to surf internet from Tata photon or BSNL. ofcourse never to dream for reliance at all.

The speeds mentioned by the service providers are in Mega bits per second (Mbps) or Kilo bits per second(Kbps). Means a 3.1Mbps is not exactly 3 MB of data download per second. Its (3×1024)/8=384KBps. Means 384KBps is the maximum that you can get.
Is better to buy an android set and use the gprs or Edge or 3g network of the mobile.
Or go for a gsm modem. Use the operator of your choice and you can use the best service provider in the city you are in and change when you move.
I am a tata photon + users and it sucks.
I am much better with a bsnl 3g sim using 2g @ Rs. 98/- per month which includes 6 GB of data usage with speeds better than Reliance or Tata photon + or MTS.
Sounds childish but its true.

Guys, Inquire about different networks connectivity in your location before purchasing any of the devices. I am regretting my purchase [tata photon+ (claimed speed: 3.1mbps, actual: 30kbps) in Kota, Rajasthan. These people know that network is the major problem, still frustrating the customer with their formal customer service and not at all interested in solving the network problem at my place and cheating more and more people, selling devices claiming false network speed. I am planning to file a case against tata photon+ people in Kota consumer court soon.
