Google Buzz button plugin for Joomla with buzz counter

This is my third Joomla plugin. This plugin will enable you to add a Google Buzz button in your Joomla articles and a counter on the button will display how many times your article has been buzzed, similar to the popular “tweet meme” plugin.

This is based on the Google Buzz button script . Installation – configuration part similar to other Joomla Plugins.

Features

Button style: Button style can be selected out of five different buttons according to your site.
Button position: Optionally can change the position of the button-either top or bottom of the article.
The Button will be displayed only in articles (Not in front page)
Category Skip: If you don’t want to show the button on a particular category, can enter the category id to be skipped, then the button will not be displayed on the articles of the selected categories.

The plugin has been submitted to Joomla Extension Directory for listing. As a first version please test this in your Joomla site and post your valuable comments for further improvements.

Joomla Orkut share plugin

This is a Joomla plugin which add an Orkut share button in the articles. By clicking this the visitor of your web site can share or promote the article to his / her Orkut friend.Users can optionally promote the content among their friends.

This is based on the new Orkut share API (Experimental). Download the plugin and install through Joomla administrator back end. Enable the plugin. I have submitted this to Joomla Extension Directory for listing. Use this plugin in your Joomla site and post your comments for further improvements.

Malayalam is now in the Joomla 1.5 accredited translation list

Joomla! is the most popular open source content management system, which enable to make multy lingual websites very easily than any other similar CMS. In my last blog post I’ve informed the informal launch of Joomla 1.5 Malayalam language pack. Now Malayalam is also one of the accredited Joomla 1.5 translation. You can find the Translation list of Joomla! here

The pack is also listed in Joomla! extension directory

Joomla 1.5 Malayalam language pack (Beta)

This is my first post on Joomla in this blog. I wish to start a post with some contribution to Joomla community. Presenting the Joomla 1.5 Malayalam language pack (Malayalam is my mother tongue) . Creating a language pack for Joomla 1.5 is not a difficult task. Other Indian language packs for Joomla 1.5 is readily available but for Malayalam there is no language pack. I don’t know till date no one tried for this. I am not claiming that this pack is a perfect one. It’s made this in a single day. I used Google indic transliteration to translate the Joomla core language files to Malayalam. With the help of popular component Joom!fish , it is very easy to make multi- lingual web sites. Download the Joomla Malayalam language pack and install to the site. In administrative back end translate your site content to Malayalam with the help of Google indic transliteration site or any other similar options.

I used many English words as it is in Malayalam aslo for e.g. “Home” the Malayalam translation is “veedu” or “Gruham” , which is not looking nice for web . Please take this as beta version. Your valuable successions and good translations are always welcome. Here I’ve translated only the core language files. If you want to get the translation of any other modules or components you can do the same by your self. Just open the language folder in Joomla root folder and copy the language file of the particular extension , copy the content and paste to Google indic transliteration page. Replace words after “=” sign with the translated content. Rename the file en-GB……….ini to ml-IN……….ini and save in UTF-08 format. Copy the file to ml-IN folder. The demo site is under preparation.
