Apple Releases Mobile Me and Find My iPhone App Update

June 23, 2010 | by techlineinfo.com

MobileMe is a collection of online services and software offered by Apple. At first, MobileMe was completely free of charge but with bigger focus on mobile devices such as iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch, Apple has decided to make MobileMe a subscription based service.

MobileMe was in beta since May but Apple has just released an update for MobileMe service that offers new look and Find My iPhone application that allows you to track and handset with iOS. The new update provides wide screen view interface, improved performance, formatting toolbar that is used for adding rich text to emails. Security of emails has been improved with SSL security that is used when sending or composing emails.

Widescreen view is used when reading emails to provide you better view of your messages. With the widescreen view there will be a lot less scrolling and with the compact view you can easily hide your folders and show them back again with the classic view. New version brings mail rules so you can easily sort your mail in different folders as soon as it arrives. In addition, new version comes with Archive button so you can easily archive any message and store it for later use. New improved toolbar lets you add rich text so you can format and add bold or italic text with ease. With the new MobileMe Mail you can now receive mail from any other email address. Simply, mail will be forwarded to your me.com address and you can replay it directly from it or from the address that the mail was originally sent to. In addition, MobileMe features improved spam filter.

Along with MobileMe update Apple has released new Find My iPhone that is used for tracking lost iOS devices. You can locate your iPhone on the map, display a message on it, or produce loud sound that will help you find it. You can even lock it remotely or even delete all the files if the phone is lost forever. Overall, great update by Apple.
