orkut How to add an Orkut link to share the blog posts

Adding social bookmark links to the blog or web sites makes it easy for readers to save and share the favorite contents with their friends.  The social  bookmarking  and networking sites like Digg, Facebook, Twitter, StumbleUpon, Myspace, Yahoo bookmarks, Technorathi, Google reader. Reddit…….etc can be easily integrated to blogs by using different plugins. But the most popular social networking site…the passion of youth…Orkut is missing in this list.

Orkut developers have unveiled an experimental “share API”  allows website owners to enable their visitors to share the website content with visitor’s Orkut friends. Users can optionally promote the content among their friends.

Now a WordPress plugin for this

Featurs of this plugin

  1. You can choose the pages where you want to show the Orkut Share button. You can set the languages supported by Google Orkut share (English, French, German, Portuguese (Brazil)).
  2. You can set the post image thumbnail meta name and that image will be selected as thumbnail image for sharing.
  3. If no image thumbnail meta name is set, first image in that post will be selected as thumbnail image for sharing.

Download the plugin

Installation

  1. Upload “wp-orkut-share” directory to the /wp-content/plugins/ directory
  2. Activate the plugin through the ‘Plugins’ menu in WordPress
  3. Goto settings “Orkut Share Settings” and save your settings

This enable users to share your blog or the blog posts with their Orkut friends. When users click this button they are prompted to login to Orkut if they are not already logged in. They are then shown a preview of the content that will be posted to Orkut with an option to also promote what they are sharing. Once the user confirms, the content will be shared with their Orkut friends.

tried it but doesn’t work. If I check the generated source code of my webpage I see:

`Failed to load source for: http://www.knightsenglish.com/%E2%80%9Dhttp://www.google.com/jsapi%E2%80%9D`

I have no idea why my url is added in front of the google one. I copied the text exactly as pasted here…

that is weird. but the new code, opens a pop up when clicked, which redirects to orkut and then to google for login but says:
