Facebook announced a new way to access through mobile devices without any data charges. The service is named as zero Facebook . Presently this facility is available for the subscribers of 50 mobile operators in 45 countries including India. To access the site type http://0.facebook.com from the mobile device. If you are from a non supported carrier a messeage will appear like this ”

“0.facebook.com is not available from your mobile carrier. Standard data charges may apply”

The site has been developed in collaboration with 50 mobile operators across 45 countries. Zero Facebook includes all the features of Facebook mobile and at the same time it will be faster also. Status updation, News Feeds, Like, comment, sen/replay or write on the walls. To speedup the load time the photos will be on-click load. To see the photos you have to pay the regular data charges.

0.facebook will be completely free to the users on selected network. When you click to view a photo or browse another mobile site a notification page will appear to confirm that you will be charged if you want to leave 0.facebook.com

In India the free service is available for Reliance and Videocon customers.
