Face it; slow Internet connections have been part of all of our lives at one point or another. This can be very annoying and distracting, especially during video streaming and other popular Internet uses. Even though you are paying for “high-speed Internet,” sometimes your high speed internet is just slow. Here are a few quick and easy ways to rocket boost you into super speed and get the mbps you deserve.

Get Rid of Unnecessary Programs

Most of us have programs on our computer that we either never use, or hardly ever use. While you may want to keep the programs you never use, there is a way to stop them from automatically starting up when you turn your computer on. Go to the settings section of your computer and turn “automatic run” off. This will prevent messenger and other programs from automatically starting when you turn your computer on.

One Computer

Most households have more than one computer, so this may not be an option for some. However, if you can keep all the bandwidth directed at one computer, then you will definitely increase your high speed internet speed.

Router Suggestions

Do you want the fastest bandwidth possible? It is important that your router is hooked up in the correct place. If you have items such as furniture and/or walls blocking the router, then you are probably not working at maximum high speed internet speed. Try to connect your router in a place where it can breathe and has nothing surrounding it.

Talk to Your Provider

Often there is a technical problem that your high speed internet provider needs to take care of. If you have done several things to try and speed-up your high speed internet connection and nothing is working, then give your Internet provider a call and see if they can troubleshoot the problem with you.

Select Best Provider

Want the fastest high speed internet speed? You need to select the best coverage provider for your area. There are always several companies to choose from when you are making the decision of a high speed internet provider. Do a little research and find out what provider has the best coverage and speed in your area.

Rocket boosting your high speed internet does not have to be complicated or hard. There are always a few simple solutions to the problem. Don’t be one of those people who has to sit through slow Internet access, take a few minutes to make it faster. Try some of these tips and tricks and you will be on your way to faster high speed internet speeds.

Good article. Under select best provider, consumers can go to http://www.broadband.gov/maps/availability.htm to find ISPs service availability in their area. Also, many ISP technical staff are slow to help people with intermittent problems. I would suggest anyone who thinks they have a problem with their Internet connection to run the packet loss test found at http://www.hostmycalls.com/packet-loss/. It will arm them with specific information for their call to the ISP.

  • in Delhi, India. there is not much a competition between broadband service providers thats why the service sucks. Competition helps the consumers
